 Abstract:
»Mary K. Holland raises similar questions about the work of David Foster Wallace-once lionized, recently vilified because of accusations of sexual abuse, still the author of work that addresses in complex and often perceptive ways the suffering of women at the hands of misogynistic men. How must we read such authors differently in the wake of #MeToo? Should we read and teach them at all? What are the proper limits of biography in our teaching? What does it say about misogyny in the academy that the misogyny of these authors' works remained largely uncommented on until popular culture finally became concerned about sexual violence in general?«
